Guidance and Personal and Social Education

Welcome to Guidance and Social Education

Menzieshill High School is ‘A Caring School’. To achieve this we aim to

  • Ensure that this is a happy school where pupils are known as individuals and feel valued as individuals.
  • Ensure each pupil’s personal, social and intellectual development to their full potential.
  • Help each pupil become aware of his/her own behaviour and development and to accept responsibility for both.
  • Identify and respond quickly and appropriately to the specific needs of the individuals.
  • Encourage good working relations between pupils and teachers based on mutual respect and co-operation.
  • Help each pupil develop self-confidence as well as consideration for others and their points of view regardless of gender, race religion, etc.
  • Establish an effective partnership with the home with respect to all aspects of pupil development.
  • Liaise with all available support services in the interests of individual pupils wherever necessary.
  • Systematise and make effective the recording and communication of information relevant to the welfare of each pupil.
