The entire S5 will attend a seminar on Safe Driving with peers from across the city...

Dress-Up Day 2009

Friday 4 December

Tickets (£1) on sale from register teachers.

Judging and prizes in the assembly hall at interval.

Pupils and staff donate £1 for the privilege of coming to school in fancy dress or their own clothes. The money raised goes to provide over 100 Christmas parcels for the elderly and needy in the local community; these are delivered by an S1 class accompanied by senior pupils.  Story and pictures:

2009 Christmas Market and Concert

Christmas Concert this year take place on

Market - 6.30p.m.

Concert - 7.30 p.m.

Tickets are on sale from the Music Department priced

£3.50: adults and

£2.50: children/concessions (includes refreshments).

Before the concert, the Parent Council will be hosting a special Christmas Market in the school social area from around 6.30 pm.

Every pupil has a personal school email address which we will use.

The Current Daily Bulletin for pupils is updated immediately on the website, is displayed in the middle social area and read out every morning in registration.

We used his study for our 2010 Calendar which makes a useful first foot gift!

Excellence in languages

Menzieshill High School awards languages prizes to pupils for excellence in French and German.

Winners for last term were: S1 Raegan Butchart, S2 Chris Vannart and Rachel Beattie and S3 Kirsty Smith and S1 Philip McLaren, S2 Ross Starke and S3 Bethany Digan.

Menzieshill Win Back The Cyclathon Cup!

Menzieshill Cyclathon Winners

Claverhouse Rotary Club President Nick Fleming presented Menzieshill High School with the Cyclathon Cup on Thursday, December 17. The school has raised a massive £2,550 with masses of pupils, parents and staff taking part. Credit goes to the Uganda Project and the USA trip youngsters who turned out in force for the event and the presentation...

2009 Christmas Grotto

Hillside Nursery School

Santa has been visiting Menzieshill High School to use a special Grotto built for local Nursery pupils!

Second year pupils have constructed the Grotto for him and have adorned it with elf sculptures, a Christmas Tree and decorations.

The Grotto was on display in the main foyer on the night of the Christmas Market and Concert. Nursery children have visited from Menzieshill Nursery and Woodlea Nursery.

Parent Forum: Raising attainment
Revision and Prelim exam preparation

Thu 3 December 2009

6.30pm – 8.30pm

You are invited to join us to experience study techniques related to revision and prelim exam preparation. The event will be held in School and will last around two hours. Refreshments, courtesy of the Parent Council, will be available. This will be of particular interest if your child is preparing for SQA exams. Whilst this will be of immediate interest to parents of learners preparing for S5/S6 prelims it will also be of benefit to parents of those in other years.
