S4 Exam assembly
Headlines: SQA Examinations
The SQA National Qualifications Examination Timetable runs from Tuesday 5 May - Friday 12 June 2009.
This section of our website summarises the assembly I gave to S4 pupils. We will add information as it becomes available and when it is given out to pupils.
Look for advice on our website.
All S4, S5 and S6 pupils are about to sit very important examinations and study towards exam success should be given a high priority. While I acknowledge the difficulty of balancing school work, social life and possibly a part-time job, it is important that all pupils prepare as well as they can for these examinations.
Pupils do well because they work hard and follow advice.
We hope our current S4 will do well this year.
Results improve when pupils, parents and staff work in partnership.
h has shown for example that working in a part time job for more than 10 hours per week adversely affects study, and consequently will have a damaging effect on likely success in examinations. I am heartened by the number of pupils who attend our Easter School and the commitment they show.
I wish all pupils success in the forthcoming examinations.
S4 Pupils
S4 SQA examinations and Study Leave start on Mon 4 May which is a holiday for all pupils. Study leave will last until Fri 29 May when all 'new S5' pupils return to school.
S5 and S6 Pupils
For S5 and S6 pupils, Study leave will begin on Fri 15 May. Study leave will last until Mon 8 June when 'new S6' pupils return to school.
There are SQA examinations on Fri 22 May which is an In-service day and Mon 25 May which is a holiday.
These examinations bring formal recognition of achievement and it is important that pupils are well prepared, turn up in good time for each exam and perform to the best of their ability.
Please note that examinations taken by our pupils are listed but you must check the actual timetable issued for specific times. You can download:
