Education Committee Improvements
Footpath improvements and pedestrian/traffic segregation
On Mon 8 June a report was approved by the Education Committee to accept the lowest offers to carry out the necessary works to improve pedestrian and traffic movement segregation at Menzieshill High School.
At the request of the School Management and Parent Council, the Council's Health and Safety Section carried out a Workplace Transport Audit at Menzieshill High School, which highlighted the lack of separation of pedestrians and vehicles accessing the school site.
The proposed works include additional footpaths and car park markings, formation of a pedestrian gate and removal of shrubs.
The total cost is around £16,500.
Replacement Fire Doors
Tenders have been received for replacement fire doors in the school.
A sum of £10,000 was approved at the Education Committee meeting on Mon 8 June.
This will improve safety and security at the entrance to the school and around the pupil social areas.
