Uganda 2010

Team Uganda 2010 are aiming to go to Uganda in October 2010 to develop the links which were established by the team which went out in 2008. We are raising funds to carry out several projects while we are there.
The main project is to enable the sinking of a borehole in the remote Namutamba region. The education situation there is that there are makeshift 'reed' classrooms for the 400 children now attending school in one way or another. The nursery-aged children are in a cowshed. The present lack of water means there is a rota system for the children to walk for up to two hours daily to find water. And the containers weigh a ton. The 'Menzieshill' well will allow not just the children, but the whole community to have local and clean water.
Menzieshill High's Uganda Project also aims to help an orphanage at Chagwe and a school at Maranatha on the shore of Lake Victoria.
