Open Evening for the Parents of Primary 6 and 7 Pupils
'Success Stories at Menzieshill High School'
7 p.m. Wednesday 4th November 2009
The transfer from primary to secondary school is a very important step. Choosing the right secondary school is a difficult decision for you to make. I want to help you make an informed decision, which will result in your son / daughter being offered the best possible secondary education in a school that meets all your requirements.
In MHS we work to keeping our school community involved and informed in making choces.
Welcome to our new pupils
Welcome to our parents and carers
Welcome to Menzieshill High School
To help you make the decision, you need information about what is available. parents and carers are invited with son or daughter to our Open Evening beginning at 7pm on Wednesday 4th November 2009.
This evening will be combined with a 'Success Stories in Menzieshill High School' exhibition, which will be open to the parents of all our pupils.
The purpose of the Open Evening is to help you find out what Menzieshill High School has to offer.
The evening begins with a short meeting in the Assembly Hall where I will introduce you to the school.
Afterwards you will be free to visit the departmental presentations and displays, to take part in a whole range of activities and talk to the staff of the school.
I hope that this will give you first hand experience of what education is like in a modern, comprehensive secondary school. Our Health Promoting tuck shop will be open during the evening.
Youngsters who attend Charleston, Gowriehill, Hillside or Lochee Primary schools will automatically be offered a place at Menzieshill High School.
If youngsters attend Ancrum Road, Birkhill, Inchture, Liff or Longforgan then parent/carers can choose to send them here. Full details about transport arrangements from these schools are contained in our Handbook.
If a youngster attends a primary school outside our zone parent/carers can still use the choice available and make a placing request for Menzieshill High School.
I look forward to meeting both you and your family on the 4th Nov, or at any other time.
