CHOICES AT 14+: Information for Pupils, Parents and Carers

This time of year marks a very important stage in the educational life of second year pupils as parents/carers and pupils make decisions about the subjects for study over the next two years in school.

In MHS a booklet has been prepared so that you know what courses are being offered, what they involve and what choices are available.

In addition, pupils and parents/carers are invited to attend an information meeting for parents which will be held in the Assembly Hall at 4.00 p.m. on Monday 1 March, immediately prior to the parent contact evening which begins at 4.30 p.m.

The parent contact evening will give you the opportunity to discuss the Third and Fourth Year course with your child’s guidance and class teachers.

An interactive guide has also been prepared on our website:

Bubbles in Tayside

As you may be aware there has been considerable media reporting in relation to an emerging drug trend known locally as Bubbles.

Bubbles first came on the scene in early 2009.  The use has grown dramatically and the effects have been deadly.  Such is my concern that I have placed information has beenplaced on our website.  I hope you find this information useful.

Parental access to glow

Glow logo

Parents at MHS are to be amongst the first parents in Scotland to have access to Glow.

I am delighted that parents in Menzieshill High School will be involved at the leading edge of this educational development. It is an exciting venture recognised worldwide and our parents will be amongst the first pioneers. We are committed to enabling all in our learning community to develop the technical and creative skills necessary to help them successfully adapt to today's world of information and technology.
